The American Academy of Adoption Attorneys: The American Academy of Adoption Attorneys is a national association of attorneys who practice, or have otherwise distinguished themselves, in the field of adoption law. The Academy’s work includes promoting the reform of adoption laws and disseminating information on ethical adoption practices.

American Bar Association (ABA) Center on Children and the Law: The Center on Children and the Law is dedicated to improving children’s lives through advances in law, justice, knowledge, practice, and public policy.

Cornell Law School Legal Information Institute: (note: has not been updated since 1998)

The National Center for Adoption Law & Policy at Capital University Law School: The National Center for Adoption Law & Policy seeks to improve the law, policies, and practices associated with child protection and adoption systems.

National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, Permanency Planning for Children Department, PPCD: The PPCD provides technical assistance to judges, court personnel, child welfare agencies, attorneys, and other professionals on a variety of issues related to permanency planning, dependency and neglect issues, and court improvement projects in the handling of child abuse and neglect cases. PPCD also offers publications,
and supports initiatives (e.g., the Expedited Adoption & Permanent Families Initiatives) on these topics. PPCD emphasizes the need for timeliness in judicial decision-making affecting abused or neglected children.
