Interventionist Support Network - Erie Area
Boulder, Longmont, Loveland, Greeley, Ft. Collins - etc
Goal: to network, improve practice, share idea's and expertise; address challenges and successes in instruction/intervention for students struggling with reading, writing and spelling grades K - 12.
This is an great opportunity to learn, to grow and to share our skills. To establish an independent learning community dedicated to best practice intervention for students who struggle with reading, writing, spelling and including students who are dyslexic.
Who: teachers, tutors, reading interventionists and classroom teachers who work with at risk readers - from mild to sever.
What: Opportunity to collaborate, share tools, techniques and enhance what we do to help struggling readers.
When: 1st Tuesday of Every Month
Beginning - Tuesday January 4, 2011 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 (folks that tutor can join us when they finish with their students.)
Where: Erie Elementary School - 4137 E County Line Road
Erie, CO 80517
Format: The idea is that this group will function much like a book group - we will collaborate, each of us bringing our best tools, techniques and challenges. Each meeting will have a 'host' to function as a facilitator with the participants bringing strategies to create shared information and experience. We can also invite professionals from the community to come if we'd like. We have access to some of the best trainers in the country and I know they'll love to share with us if we want to invite them!
Fee: None, nothing, nada
