Understanding and Meeting the Unique Needs of
Foster and Adoptive Families and Their Children

Denise Leffingwell, MSW, LCSW, has over 12 years experience in social work. She will present this introductory curriculum, which highlights:
• Child development issues and emotional confl icts in the life of a child moving through the foster care system to adoption
• Psycho-social issues, diagnosis and treatment of a child who was adopted
• Post-placement support and treatment services for the adoptive family
• Strategies to address the special challenges of the adoptive family
