RESOURCES FOR YOUTH WHO HAVE A PARENT OR SIBLING LIVING WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS
NAMI has received an alarming amount of interest in programs and resources for youth who have a parent or sibling living with a mental illness. In response to this critical need, NAMI has collected information from experts on the topic and have also compiled a brief list of programs developed by NAMI local and state organizations.
The materials NAMI has collected are attached to this email and include:
- NAMI Programs for Youth who Have a Parent or Sibling Living with a Mental Illness (.doc)
- Resources for Supporting Families Dealing with Parent Mental Illness (PDF)
- Resources for Military Families (PDF)
- Resources For and About Children of A Parent With a Psychiatric Illness (PDF)
NAMI greatly appreciates the Daughters and Sons Initiative leaders and Joanne Riebschleger, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, School of Social Work , Michigan State University, for sharing their resources and expertise with us!
