Nebraska Safe Haven Law

In 2008, Nebraska’s “safe haven” law drew national attention when the law was enacted, allowing parents to “drop off” children of any age. More than 30 children, mostly teenagers, were abandoned by distressed parents at Nebraska hospitals. Some parents came from faraway states. In response, Nebraska revised its “safe haven” child drop-off law to make it only applicable to newborns. To read the article, go to:
